noun. The cast-off skins or coverings of various organisms, such as the shells of crabs or skins of snakes.
The art piece, like any object, does not exist on its own. It is subject to inconstant surroundings, only to be activated by its passing onlookers. In my photographs, I seek to highlight the art object's receptive nature by inviting it to participate in the background– to immerse itself within its surroundings. Through the camera lens, the objects are abstracted yet personalized; revealing fleeting moments that reflect the layered experience of an art work.
